The computer system essentially consists of four components: input devices, output devices,Processing device and Storage devices .The input devices are used to provide data to the central processing unit (CPU) for processing. After processing, the input data are converted into meaningful information and this output is presented to the user with the help of output devices.
1) Input devices
E.g.: - Keyboard, Mouse, Mic, Scanner, Bar code reader, Camera, touch screen, memory chips reader…etc.
2) Output devices
E.g.: - Speaker, Monitor, Printer, Platter…etc.
3) Processing device
E.g.: - CPU-(Control Processing Device)/Processor.
4) Storage devices
You can divide the storage devices into two categories.
A) Primary storage devices
Note: - You can divide the primary devices into two categories.
I) Temporary storage device
E.g.: - RAM – Random Access Memory.
II) Permanently storage device
E.g.: - ROM – Read Only Memory/BIOS-(Basic Input Output System).
B) Secondary storage devices
E.g.: - Hard disk, Floppy disk, CD-(Compact Disk), Pen/Flash drives, Memory chips, cassettes/Magnetic tape, DVD-(Digital Video Disk)...etc.
